Downtown renovation loans expanded

Lewisburg City Council has expanded the permitted use of money it has to loan for improvements to buildings in the area around Marshall County's courthouse.

Previously, up to $100,000 was available from the city's Urban Development Action Grant fund for improvements to the exteriors of buildings around the courthouse square and the surrounding blocks.

Now, UDAG loans may be made to refurbish interiors of buildings on the square and the roads in four directions away from the square, but still in an area that the city has defined as its downtown area...Pick up a copy of December 19th edition for full coverage.
