Kenneth Lee Brown
Mr. Kenneth Lee Brown, 82, died Wednesday, Dec. 12, 2007, in St. Thomas Hospital.
Mr. Brown was a native of Marshall County. He retired as superintendent of Lewisburg Gas Depart-ment after 41 years of service and continued as a consultant for nine more years. He served as president of Tennessee Gas Association from 1988 to 1989; received the first-ever Silver Flame Award from the Tennessee Public Gas Association in 1990; served as president of the American Public Gas Association and served on the Board of Directors.
In 1973 he was given the Personal Achievement Award for the American Public Gas Association.
He received the APGA Distinguished Service Award in 1988 and was given Honorary Lifetime Memberships in both the Tennessee and American Public Gas associations.
The Lewisburg Admini-stration Building has been renamed the Kenneth L. Brown Building.
He also served on numerous local governing boards. He was a member of Hickory Heights Church of Christ, where he served as a Deacon.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Aaron and Grady Troop Brown.
He is survived by his wife, Evelyn Daniel Brown of Lewisburg; son, David (Margie) Brown of Murfreesboro; daughter, Donna (Donald) Rhoton of Tullahoma; sister, Alice Keele of Lewisburg; six grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren.
Funeral services were conducted Saturday, Dec. 15, from the chapel of London Funeral Home, followed by burial in the Talley Cemetery at Cane Creek.
