The Marshall County Board of Public Utilities is ending the water give-a-way program. The last days for the program are today from 4 to 6 p.m. and Saturday, Dec. 22, from 8 to 10 a.m.

The Berean Baptist Church choir will give the final performance of "Let There Be Light" at the Summit, at 6:15 p.m. Thursday, Dec. 20.

The American Red Cross will conduct a holiday blood drive from noon to 6 p.m. Thursday, Dec. 20, at Church Street Church of Christ, 305 West Church St.

To give blood you must be at least 17 years old, weigh a minimum of 110 pounds, be in good general health, and present positive identification. There is no upper age limit for blood donation. Give the gift of life this holiday season -- your blood could help save up to three people. For more information or to schedule an appointment call 800-448-3543. All donors from Dec. 18 to Jan. 6 will have the opportunity to enter a drawing for one of three 32-inch flat-screen, high definition televisions.

The deadline for dropping off donations to the Toys for Kids program is Friday, Dec. 21. Donations can be dropped off at the offices of the Lewisburg Gas Department, Lewisburg Electric, Lewisburg Water and Wastewater, or the Lewisburg Fire Department. Both toys and monetary donations are accepted.

The Marshall County offices in the Courthouse Annex, Courthouse and Hardison Office Annex will be closed for the holidays, Monday and Tuesday, Dec. 24 and 25, and Tuesday, Jan. 1.

The Caney Spring Baptist Church, 1444 Hwy 99, Chapel Hill, will present "The Christmas Story" at 6 p.m, Sunday, Dec. 23, with fellowship following the story. For more information call 364-7374.

All Lewisburg City offices will be closed for the holidays, Monday and Tuesday, Dec. 24 and 25. Monday's garbage route will be picked up the following Thursday. Tuesday's garbage route will be picked up the following Friday.

The Chapel Hill City offices will be closed for the holidays, Monday and Tuesday, Dec. 24 and 25, and Tuesday, Jan. 1

The Town of Chapel Hill garbage collection will be picked up on Wednesday, Dec. 26, due to the Christmas holiday. Regular garbage collection will resume Tuesday, Jan. 1.

The Marshall County Board of Public Utilities, 624 West Commerce St., will be closed for the holidays, Monday and Tuesday, Dec. 24 and 25. It will reopen at 8 a.m. Wednesday, Dec. 26.

The Cornersville City Hall office will be closed for the holidays, Monday, Tuesday and Wednesday, Dec. 24-26, and Tuesday, Jan. 1.

The Christmas break for the Marshall County School system has been adjusted. The updated schedule is: Friday, Dec. 21, short day; Monday, Dec. 24 to Tuesday, Jan. 8, holiday break; Wednesday, Jan. 9, students return to school.

Maury Regional Hospital will offer a smoking cessation class beginning Jan. 8. The eight-week course will be held on Tuesdays from 5 p.m. until 7 p.m., Jan. 8 through Feb. 26, in the auxiliary conference room.
