Lewisburg City garbage will be collected as follows: Monday's garbage route will be picked up the following Thursday. Tuesday's garbage route will be picked up the following Friday.

There will be a New Year's Eve singing at 6 p.m., Dec. 31, at Farmington Baptist Church, located on Nashville Highway (U.S. Highway 31) between Lewisburg and Chapel Hill. Several Southern gospel and bluegrass groups will perform and a chili and beef stew supper with all the fixin's will be served. Maury Regional Hospital will offer a smoking cessation class beginning Jan. 8. The eight-week course will be held on Tuesdays from 5 p.m. until 7 p.m., Jan. 8 through Feb. 26, in the conference room.
The Marshall County Chapter of The American Red Cross will host a benefit concert at the Dixie Theatre at 7:30 p.m. Saturday, Jan. 12, featuring Us Two and Him and Vocal Union. Cost is $10 per ticket. The concert is being organized by Phil Comstock.
Maury Regional Hospital will offer a self-care class for diabetics on how to control blood sugar from 9:30 a.m. until 12:30 p.m., Saturday, Jan. 12, in the auxiliary conference room on the first floor. Refreshments will be served. Pre-registration is preferred, but not mandatory. The cost is $20, but each participant may bring a guest at no extra charge.
