The Marshall County JECDB Executive Committee will meet at 8:15 a.m. Wednesday, Jan. 2, at 2209 Courthouse Annex.

The Board of Commissioners of Marshall County will meet in special session at 6 p.m., Wednesday, Jan. 2, in Room 2204 of the Marshall County Courthouse Annex.

The Town of Cornersville will hold a public hearing at 6 p.m., Thursday, Jan. 3, at City Hall in Cornersville to amend its Urban Growth Boundary on the north side of the Lynnville Highway and the half parcels on the east side of Hwy. 31-A South.

The Industrial Development Board of the City of Lewisburg will resume their recessed meeting of Dec. 3 at noon, Monday, Jan. 7, at Lewisburg City Hall, 131 East Church Street.

The Town of Chapel Hill Beer Board and the Board of Mayor and Aldermen will hold a work session at 10 a.m., Tuesday, Jan, 8, at the Chapel Hill Police and Fire Department, 119 N. Horton Pkwy, to discuss Ordinance No. 07-11, which allows on-premises consumption, and any other business.

The Town of Cornersville will have a public hearing at 6 p.m., Tuesday, Jan. 22, at City Hall. This concerns the Plan of Services for the annexation of property on the Lynnville Hwy.

The Lewisburg campus of Columbia State Community College offices will re-open on Wednesday, Jan. 2.

Lewisburg City garbage that would normally be picked up on Tuesday (Jan. 1) will be picked up the following Friday (Jan. 4).

The Christmas break for the Marshall County School system is Monday, Dec. 24 to Tuesday, Jan. 8. Students return to school on Wednesday, Jan. 9.

First Assembly of God in Lewisburg will host Financial Peace University, the 13-week program taught by Dave Ramsey, beginning at 4 p.m. Sunday, Jan. 6. The program has helped more than 400,000 families positively change their financial future. Maury Regional Hospital will offer a smoking cessation class beginning Jan. 8. The eight-week course will be held on Tuesdays from 5 p.m. until 7 p.m., Jan. 8 through Feb. 26, in the auxiliary conference room.

The Maury Regional Hospital Gluten Free Support Group will meet at 5 p.m., Tuesday, Jan. 8, in the first floor conference room. There will be a presentation on gluten in medications and a discussion of soup options for those with celiac disease. Maury Regional Hospital will offer a self-care class for diabetics on how to control blood sugar from 9:30 a.m. until 12:30 p.m., Saturday, Jan. 12, in the auxiliary conference room on the first floor. Refreshments will be served. Pre-registration is preferred, but not mandatory. The cost is $20, but each participant may bring a guest at no extra charge.
