Anyone wanting to participate in the upcoming GED graduation ceremony is asked to contact the Marshall County Adult Learning Center at 359-7609 before Monday, Jan. 14. Documentation is required.

The Marshall County Adult Learning Center will be conducting a free class on basic computer skills. Class size is limited to 10. Call 359-7609 for additional information and to register. Morning and evening classes are available.

The Care Kitchen of Marshall County will be serving a free hot meal from 6 to 7 p.m. every Thursday in the Fellowship Hall of First United Methodist Church, 325 West Church St. The church is planning to provide this meal weekly and is seeking other churches to join the Care Kitchen. Maury Regional Hos-pital will offer a self-care class for diabetics on how to control blood sugar from 9:30 a.m. until 12:30 p.m., Saturday, Jan. 12, in the auxiliary conference room on the first floor. Refreshments will be served. Pre-registration is preferred, but not mandatory. The cost is $20, but each participant may bring a guest at no extra charge. The Marshall County Chapter of The American Red Cross will host a benefit concert at the Dixie Theatre at 7:30 p.m., Saturday, Jan. 12, featuring Us Two and Him and Vocal Union. Marshall Chapter No. 5249 AARP will meet at 1:30 p.m., Monday, Jan. 14, in the Fellowship Hall of First United Methodist Church. Barbara Woods, chairwoman of the Committee to Implement Recycling, will be the guest speaker.

The Town of Chapel Hill Board of Mayor and Aldermen will meet at 5 p.m., Monday, Jan. 14, at the Chapel Hill Police and Fire Department, 119 North Horton Pkwy.

The Marshall County ECD/ Tourism Committee and the Joint Economic Community Development Executive Committee will hold a joint committee meeting at 7 p.m., Monday, Jan. 14, at 2209 Courthouse Annex Building.

The Marshall County Board of Public Utilities will meet at 9 a.m., Tuesday, Jan. 15, in the conference room at 624 W. Commerce St. The public is invited to attend.

The City of Lewisburg's Planning and Zoning Commission will meet at 4 p.m., Tuesday, Jan. 15, at the City Hall, 131 East Church St.

There will be an open house from 4 to 6 p.m., Tuesday, Jan. 15, at the Pryor Art Gallery in the Waymon L. Hickman Building, Columbia State Community College, 1665 Hampshire Pike, Columbia. The exhibition at the gallery, "Pryor Women," highlighting the work of 15 Maury County women artists, is on view until Thursday, Jan. 30. Opening hours are 8:30 a.m. to 5 p.m., Monday through Friday.

Marshall County High School will host a financial aid/lottery scholarship informational workshop at 6:30 p.m., Tuesday, Jan. 15, in the library of MCHS. Topics covered will be lottery scholarship information, FAFSA, other types of financial aid and scholarships, and college application procedures. All parents and students are invited.

The Chapel Hill Youth Football League will meet at 6 p.m., Wednesday, Jan. 16, at the Forrest High Field House. This meeting is open to the public.

The Marshall County Emergency Communica-tions District Board of Directors will meet at 9 a.m., Thursday, Jan. 17, at the Emergency Operations Center in the Hardison Annex Building, 230 College St., Lewisburg

The Marshall County Republican Women's Group will meet at 11 a.m., Thursday, Jan. 17, in the meeting room at First Commerce Bank, 500 North Ellington Pkwy. Lunch will be served at noon. All Marshall County Republican women are urged to attend and visitors are always welcome.

The American Red Cross will conduct a blood drive from noon to 6 p.m., Thursday, Jan. 17, at Church Street Church of Christ, 305 West Church St. To give blood you must be at least 17 years old, weigh a minimum of 110 pounds, be in good general health, and present positive identification. There is no upper age limit and you can donate every 56 days. January is National Blood Donor Month, so please take this opportunity to help save the lives of up to three people. The Town of Chapel Hill city offices will be closed on Monday, Jan. 21, in observance of Martin Luther King Jr. Day. The office will reopen on Tuesday. Office hours are 7:30 a.m. to 4:00 p.m.

The Town of Corner-sville will hold a public hearing at 6 p.m., Tuesday, Jan. 22, at City Hall. This concerns the plan of services for the annexation of property on the Lynnville Highway. This meeting is open to the public and all citizens are welcome.

The Forrest Alumni Association will hold adult community-wide basketball games on Saturday, Jan. 26. The gym opens at 5 p.m. The women's game begins at 6 p.m. and the men's game is at 7:30.
