The Forrest Rockets are a team that started the season slowly, but they are gaining momentum, winning five out of their last seven games with the latest coming on a solid 41-30 victory at Middle Tennessee Christian School Monday night.
The Rockets are now 2-2 in District 9A, in third place behind Eagleville and Van Buren, both unblemished in district play. The Rockets have a chance to make up some serious ground in the next ten days as they have three district games, all in Chapel Hill. Their only bus trip will be to Summertown tomorrow versus the always tough District 12A opponent.
The Rockets shot off the bench to begin the game with a tough defense that catapulted Forrest to an 11-2 lead midway through the first period and they led 14-10 at the buzzer. Bookend three-pointers in the quarter by Devin O'Brien and Kendall Knight, along with a wheeling and dealing Nick Schnapp sparked the offense.
