The Rockets' midseason surge continued Friday night in Chapel Hill as Forrest won its third consecutive District 9A game and the sixth of their last eight by doubling up F.C. Boyd Christian School 64-37.
The Rockets trailed 4-2 in the opening minute, but pasted the Broncos the rest of the first quarter and had an 18-5 lead when the period ended. Forrest used a pressing defense to force Boyd into a bevy of mistakes that led to some easy buckets. Nick Schnapp had an early three-pointer and Preston Pratt continued his hot shooting off the bench by draining two three-bombs late in the quarter.
The threat of the long ball opened up some lanes in the Broncos defense and Colin Henson and Kendall Knight took advantage with some great drives to the hoop for buckets.
