The Marshall County Adult Learning Center will conduct a free class on basic computer skills. Class size is limited to 10. Call 359-7609 for additional information and to register. Morning and evening classes are available.

The Care Kitchen of Marshall County will serve a free hot meal from 6 to 7 p.m. every Thursday in the Fellowship Hall of First United Methodist Church, 325 West Church St. The church is planning to provide this meal weekly and is seeking other churches to join the Care Kitchen. The Mayor and City Council of Lewisburg will hold a special meeting, immediately followed by a workshop, at 4 p.m. today at City Hall, 131 East Church St.

The Marshall County Budget Committee will meet at 5:30 p.m., Wednesday, Jan. 23, in Room 2209 of the Courthouse Annex to review the January agenda.

The Marshall County Board of Education will hold a special called meeting at 5:30 p.m. today at the Central Office.

The Marshall County Joint Economic Community Development Board will hold a workshop at 6 p.m., Thursday, Jan. 24, in Room 2204 of the Courthouse Annex.

Finding Money for College, a program on financial aid information for college and technical school featuring James Snider of the Tennessee Student Assistance Corp. and Lottery Program will be held at 6:30 p.m., Thursday, Jan. 24, in the Cornersville High School Theater. Students and their parents are invited.

The Forrest Alumni Association will hold adult communitywide basketball games on Saturday, Jan. 26. The gym opens at 5 p.m. The women's game begins at 6 p.m. and the men's game is at 7:30. The Liggett Street Church of God of Lewisburg will hold a Report Card Party from noon to 2 p.m., Saturday, Feb. 2. The party is a fund-raiser for a new tutoringand homework help program that starts Feb. 13. There will be free food, a sale of baked goods and giveaways for parents.

The South Central (East) Rural Planning Organization's executive and technical committees will meet at 10 a.m. Wednesday, Feb. 6, in the dining room at Henry Horton State Park.
