The Forrest Lady Rockets stretched their winning steak to eight games with a 45-32 district win over Eagleville in Chapel Hill Friday night, despite one of their more lackluster performances of the season.
"On a scale of one to 10, I would say it was a five," said Forrest head coach Robby Reasonover. "It was a good job defensively by Eagleville. We had enough to pull away and win, but obviously we would like to play better than we did tonight."
Forrest (17-3, 7-0) will pack up the duffel bags and hit the road for three straight at McEwen, Cascade and at Community before they return home Feb. 2 versus MTCS.
"I was hoping we were going to be able to ride the momentum of the Van Buren win," Resonaover said, "but it feels like we took a step back. This is one of things you have to overcome and not let it get to us."
