The Cornersville Middle School Lady Bulldogs broke out of their month-long scoring drought in a big way Wednesday night, blistering the Rockvale Lady Rockets, 57-44, in the first round of the James C. Haile Middle School Invitational State Tournament at Middle Tennessee Christian School in Murfreesboro.
Rockvale had a serious height advantage in the contest, forcing CMS head coach Joy McMasters to develop a game plan to offset the disadvantage. McMasters had the plan and the team executed it perfectly in scoring the season-high 57.
The Lady Dawgs used their speed and a pressing defense and when they got the turnovers, they took it straight to the hoop.
