Helen M. Green

Mrs. Helen M. Green, 91, of Lewisburg, died Thursday, Jan. 31, 2008, at Marshall Medical Center.

Mrs. Green was a native of Texas. She was a homemaker, retired from Faber Castell, and a cafeteria worker at Marshall County High School. She was a member of the FCE Club and First Cumberland Presbyterian Church.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Joseph M. Austin and Pearl Starnes; husband, Raymond Green; and granddaughter, Cindy Bailliff.

She is survived by two daughters, Felecie (Alfred) Doggett of Lewisburg and Mary Ruth (Ben) Massey of Nashville; one son, Ray (Lynn) Green of Lewisburg; two sisters, Josephine Stafford and Thelma Rowland, and one brother, J. W. Austin, all of Lewisburg; two grandchildren and three step-grandchildren; four great-grandchildren; five step-great-grandchildren; and several nieces, nephews and cousins.

Funeral services were held Sunday, Feb. 3, from the chapel of Bills-McGaugh Funeral Home with Wayne Morgan and Tom Summers officiating, followed by burial at Bethlehem Cemetery in the Berlin Community.

Pallbearers were Pat Green, Dennis Pedersen, Alfred Doggett, Ben Massey, Eddie Warren, and Ralph Naimon.

Honorary pallbearers were Elizabeth Sowell, and coaches and players of the MCHS basketball team.

Memorials may be made to the athletic teams at Marshall County High School.
