Betty Ruth Newcomb Randolph

Mrs. Betty Ruth Newcomb Randolph, 70, of the Holts Corner Community, died Sunday, Feb. 3, 2008, at her residence after an extended illness.

Mrs. Randolph was a native of Bedford County. She was a homemaker and served for 45 years as church pianist for the Holts Corner Baptist Church. She was retired from Genesco, Durango Boot Co. and CPS of Franklin.

She was preceded in death by her father, Claudius Jordan Newcomb, and a son, Robert "Bobby" Randolph.

She is survived by her mother, Ruth Newcomb of the Holts Corner Community; husband, Otha Randolph, of Holts Corner; two daughters, Gale Blackwell of Verona and Tanya Duncan of Lebanon; two sons, Clay and Neal Randolph, both of Holts Corner; two brothers, Robert Newcomb of Allisona and Charles Newcomb of Caney Spring; six grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.

Funeral services were conducted Tuesday, Feb. 5, at the Holts Corner Baptist Church with the Revs. Larry Chatman and John Eatherly officiating followed by burial in the Randolph Cemetery, Holts Corner.

Active pallbearers were Jim Ricketts, Jerry McCord, Clarence Gordon, Ronnie Trout, Ricky Hazel, Paul Rogers, Charles Dunaway, and David Walls.

Honorary pallbearers were the Senior Adult Class at Holts Corner Baptist Church.

Lawrence Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements.
