Standing tall, the Forrest Rockets pushed back a tough Community squad 49-42 Monday in Chapel Hill on senior night, extending the Rockets' winning streak to three games.
Preston Pratt scored 18 points (all three's) to lead the Rockets to victory and all but assure the team of a first round home game to begin next week's District 9A Tournament.
"Community came out and fought tonight," Pratt said after the game. "They brought the intensity, but we had enough heart to match their intensity and win."
The Vikings started quick, jumping out to an early 9-2 lead, capped off on a three-point bucket by Dustin White. Pratt nailed the first of his long bombs to make it 9-5 and after a Community basket made it 11-5, Pratt struck again to cut the lead to three at 11-8.
