Marshall County Tribune: Local News: Mooresville Highway, bypass among TDOT priority projects (02/13/08)

CHAPEL HILL -- Widening of Mooresville Highway and the portion of Lewisburg's bypass from East Commerce Street to the Marshall County EMS headquarters are two projects with funding plans in place by state officials.

However, a proposal to widen State Route 64 to Shelbyville is not. A state official has suggested that local transportation leaders cut those plans into smaller projects so that they might be included in later plans by the Tennessee Department of Transportation.

Meanwhile, improvements to State Route 50, New Columbia Highway, have been ranked sixth out of six by transportation leaders who met at Henry Horton State Park last week.

These are the results emerging from a meeting of the Regional Planning Organization, an advisory group based in Columbia with the South Central Tennessee Development District.
