The Cornersville Lady Bulldogs began their preparation for the District tournament this week with a 66-33 blowout win Saturday night at Hampshire in the regular season finale.
Cornersville finished the regular season with a 16-9 record and a fourth-place finish in District 11A, earning them a first-round home game Monday night versus Columbia Academy, a team they have beaten twice this season by a combined margin of 33 points.
Hampshire started the game with only five players and ended it with just four when Blaine Marsh fouled out with 5:19 left in the game. The teams played four-on-four the rest of the period.
Cornersville jumped out strong on the Lady Hawks, starting the contest with a 10-0 scoring run. The Lady Dawgs were all over the Hampshire girls, pressing and running at every opportunity.
