Zoning land for businesses was the subject of requests that received a warm welcome in all but one instance during Tuesday night's meeting of the Lewisburg City Council.
Lewisburg Economic Development Director Terry Wallace reported to the council about a proposal to annex land fronting Old Belfast Road.
"I have a company that's interested in coming to the city," Wallace said.
While he declined to name the business, Wallace said, "They do produce a product," and, "if everything goes all right ... then we need a special meeting."
To proceed on a schedule apparently sought by the potential employer, Wallace agreed with Mayor Bob Phillips that a special called meeting at 4 p.m. Feb. 26 would allow third and final approval of the annexation, zoning and of a plan for city services during the council's regularly scheduled meeting in March.
