Cornersville's Steven Nelms drives past Culleoka's C.J. Holt Friday in District semi-finals. Culleoka prevailed over the Bulldogs, 54-49. The Warriors had beaten Cornersville by 35 points in their last match-up.
Although they had earned the third seed in the tournament, the Bulldogs (13-14) came into Friday's contest as heavy underdogs since Culleoka (23-5) was playing on their home court and had beaten Cornersville by 35 points just two weeks earlier. The Warriors, though, were never able to pull away from the Bulldogs and had to stave off a late Cornersville rally to pull out the victory.
"My kids played their hearts out," said Bulldog head coach Adrian Wilson. "For the most part we did what we needed to do. If we made a few more shots here or there, we could have won the game."
