COOKEVILLE, Tenn. -- Feb. 25, 2008 -- Con-way Truckload, a full-truckload carrier and subsidiary of Con-way Inc., announced the opening of a driver orientation site here.

Con-way Truckload plans to hire more than 250 experienced professional truck drivers in the Greater Cookeville area over the next 12 months.

The new site adds to Con-way Truckload's national network of 11 orientation sites and supports the company's expanding customer base in the area -- a result of Con-way Inc.'s acquisition of Contract Freighters, Inc. in August 2007.

Every Con-way Truckload new hire must attend a five-day orientation program to complete the required paperwork and road test, learn about policies and procedures, and take the Department of Transporta-tion-mandated physical exam, among other activities. The Cookeville orientation site, located at the Clarion Inn, 970 South Jefferson Avenue, will serve as the training ground for drivers hired within a 100-mile radius of Cookeville.

Prior to the opening of the new location, drivers were required to travel to the closest existing sites in Memphis, Tenn., and Atlanta.
