Lady Rockets blow out Van Buren, 76-44

Gaby Bussell gets the rebound and puts it in for the Lady Rockets.

The Forrest Lady Rockets are a lunch pail team, winning ugly or winning pretty, it does not matter to them.

Monday night at Hillwood High School in the Region 5A semi-final versus Van Buren, Forrest won in a blow-out victory, 76-44, pushing their winning streak to 17 and sending them to the championship game tonight versus Middle Tennessee Christian at 7 p.m.

The TSSAA will probably have a requisition form on their desk this morning for three new whistles as the referees worked their blowers at full force, calling 25 fouls in the ballgame against Forrest and 15 on the Lady Eagles.

Summer Waggoner was called for a foul on the very first possession of the game and the tone was set. Van Buren scored to make it 2-0, but the Lady Rockets responded with a 13-0 run. Ayla Young scored the first five points for the Lady Rockets on a nice cut and pass from Gaby Bussell and then Young nailed a deep three.
