Tigerettes one win away from gold ball

One more win away from the Tigerette's fourth state title.

The Marshall County Tigerettes are one away from capturing the gold ball and their fourth state title after a nail biting 45-43 win over McMinn Central Friday at the Farm Bureau Insurance Basketball Championships in Murfreesboro.

Defense was the key to victory as NeNe McLean's steal with 3:37 left in the game sparked the MCHS win. McLean's steal fired up the squad as they finished off the Chargerettes to advance to today's state final versus Milan.

The second big defensive play came with just twelve seconds left on an inbounds play under the McMinn goal as the Tigerettes completely smothered the play and forced a five second call to seal the win.

Lauren March had another great game, scoring 23 points in the contest. March, left off the Miss Basketball ballot is a front-runner for the Tournament MVP.
