Each year students celebrate the birthday of author Theodor Geisel, better known as 'Dr. Seuss,' with distinctive activities and events about reading during Read Across America Week. This year Read Across America was observed the week of March 3 through March 7.

Oak Grove students were excited to have special 'readers' from First Commerce Bank come and share a book with their classes. There was also an unexpected visit from the Dr. Seuss star 'The Cat in the Hat.' Another treat involved the third-grade classes of Mrs. Presson, Mrs. Michael and Mrs. Barnes visiting the Oak Grove kindergarteners to read to them. The third-graders were a little surprised when many of the kindergarten students turned the tables and read a book to them.
