The Marshall County Education Association is offering a $1,000 scholarship to upcoming college juniors and seniors who are majoring in education. Applications are now available at all high schools in the Marshall County school system, and at the Memorial Library. The deadline for application is May 9, 2008.

The Marshall County Senior Citizens Board of Directors will meet at noon Wednesday, March 19, in the classroom at the Senior Center, 230 College St., Lewisburg.

The Marshall County Three Star Housing Committee will meet at 3:00 p.m,, on Wednesday, March 19, in Room 2209 of the Courthouse Annex, Lewisburg.

The Marshall County Land, Price and Sell Committee will meet at 5:00 p.m., on Wednesday, March 19, in Room 2209 of the Courthouse Annex, Lewisburg.

The Marshall County Budget Committee will meet at 5:30 p.m., on Wednesday, March 19, in Room 2209 of the Courthouse Annex, Lewisburg.

The "Medical Miracle Crew" Relay for Life Team will hold a bake sale and silent auction from 7 a.m. to 2 p.m., Thursday, March 20, in the conference room at Marshall Medical Center. All proceeds go to the American Cancer Society.

The Marshall County Emergency Communications District Board of Directors will hold their regular monthly meeting at 9 a.m. Thursday, March 20, in the Emergency Operations Center (EOC), Hardison Office Annex, 230 College St., Lewisburg.

All Lewisburg City Offices will be closed Good Friday, March 21. The Friday garbage route will be picked up the following Tuesday.

The Mooresville Volunteer Fire Department Ladies Auxiliary will conduct its annual Easter Bake Sale, starting at 8 a.m., Saturday, March 22, at the Lewisburg Wal-Mart. Excellent baked goods for your family's Easter dinner including freshly prepared homemade pies and beautifully decorated Easter cakes will be available. All proceeds help equip and maintain the Mooresville Volunteer Fire Department.

The Lewisburg Housing Authority Board of Commission-ers will meet at 6 p.m., Tuesday, March 25, at the George W. Turner Building, 741 Silver St. The annual meeting and election of officers will take place immediately before the regular monthly meeting.

Linda G. Gupton, a retired teacher and lifelong resident of Lewisburg, will be the keynote speaker for the Maury County Library's Women's History Month program to be held on Friday, March 28th. Gupton will be speaking on the history of women's education in Maury County, including the Athenaeum and Columbia Female Institute. All are invited and welcome to this free-to-the-public event.
