Rising country recording star Chris Young will be in Lewisburg on March 22nd to perform an acoustic show at the Dixie Theater. Tickets are on sale at the theater this week, and are only $10.00. When asked why Young was scheduling a concert in Lewisburg, he replied that his grandparents, who live in Columbia, and other relatives that live in the area had asked him to do a local show. Lewisburg radio station WJJM was one of the early believers in Young's talent, and he decided to return to the area that helped him win his record deal. WJJM will also have two prize packages including 2 pairs of tickets to give away on air this week.
What has Chris Young been doing lately? Well, on the Grand Ole Opry, singing on the General Jackson for the Country Radio Seminar, on CNN news, performing the national anthem at the Bristol Sharpie 300, in the upper right hand corner of the current edition of Country Weekly Magazine as one of the 2008 Hottest Bachelors in Country Music -- those are the places that you could have found him this past week. Young won his record deal on national television almost two years ago on a program called Nashville Star.
