Miss Cornersville crowned

The Cornersville Athletic Booster Club sponsored the 50th annual Miss and Little Miss Cornersville Pageants on Friday, March 14. Miss Cornersville 1989, Jennifer Davis Cook, hosted the event. Miss Cornersville 2006, Erin Traynor, hosted the Little Miss Cornersville portion of the pageant.

The 50th anniversary also served as a reunion for former Miss Cornersvilles. In addition to Cook and Taylor, the following winners were present to help celebrate this momentous occasion: Glenda McMahon Tate, 1959; Gayle Connelly Gower, 1962; Pauleen Mullins, 1963; Doris DeFoe Arthur, 1964; Sonya Ingram, 1965; Linda Wilson, 1967; Rita Tucker Smith, 1972; Karen Owen Moore, 1974; Pam Haislip Thomason, 1975; Cassandra Vanhooser, 1978; Sonia Wilson, 1979; Jill Borton Cook, 1980; Kathy Wolaver, 1988; Julie Capps Hunnsiger, 1992; Mary Beth Nunley Hopkins, 1994; Holly Brown Drayton, 1995; Kacy Cantrell, 1999; Amber Douglas, 2001; Carolanne Jolley, 2003; and Deanna Barlar, 2004.

Top ten honors for the Little Miss Cornersville Pageant went to Emalee Groves, Morgan Terry, Sallie Poteat, Kaylia Luna (1st runner up), Moira Borne (3rd runner up), Haison Hopkins, Annie Yates (4th runner up), Ivy Gentry, Taylor Powers (2nd runner up), and KiAnna Holder.

Little Miss Cornersville 2008 is Morgan Renee Terry, the daughter of Jonathan and Dana Terry.

Top ten honors for the Miss Cornersville Pageant were awarded to Jessica Lynn Dillard, Talia Dunivant (2nd runner up), Martha Brown, Katherine Lee (3rd runner up), Hannah Lovvern, Jessica King, Brittany Taylor (4th runner up), Julia Whitsett, Jade Denton, and Anna Owen (1st runner up).

Miss Cornersville 2008 is Jessica Lynn Dillard, the daughter of Terry and Vicki Dillard.

CB&S Bank sponsored the first People's Choice Award this year, and Jenna Martin presented the award to Sophie Gray.

Chelsea Hastings, a sophomore at Cornersville High School, provided entertainment for the evening.

The Booster Club would like to thank all the young ladies as well as their parents for making this event such a success. The CABC would also like to say a huge thank you to all the people who volunteered their time to make this event a special one.
