The Lone Oak and Cook Memorial Cemetery Advisory Committees of the City of Lewisburg will meet at 4 p.m., Wednesday, March 26, at the City Hall, 131 East Church St.

Linda G. Gupton, a retired teacher and lifelong resident of Lewisburg, will be the keynote speaker for the Maury County Library's Women's History Month program to be held on Friday, March 28th. Gupton will be speaking on the history of women's education in Maury County, including the Athenaeum and Columbia Female Institute. All are invited and welcome to this free-to-the-public event. The Chapel Hill Police Department, in conjunction with local assisting agencies, will be conducting sobriety checkpoints inside Chapel Hill corporate limits on Saturday, March 29.

An Antiques Appraisal Fair will be held from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. Saturday, March 29, at the Athenaeum Rectory in Columbia. The Chapel Hill Soccer League will be holding a parent meeting from 2 to 4 p.m. Sunday, March 30, in the front shelter at Henry Horton State Park. There will be early registration for fall soccer and discussion on changing from AYSO to TSSA. All coaches and parents are urged to attend.

The Lewisburg Recreation Board will hold their regular scheduled monthly meeting at 6:30 p.m., Monday, March 31, in the large meeting room at the Recreation Center, 1551 Mooresville Hwy.

During April, Marshall County veterinarians will give rabies vaccinations to dogs and cats at their offices for the reduced rate of $8 per pet. Tennessee State Law requires that dogs and cats six months and older be vaccinated against rabies and that vaccinations be kept up to date. Animals have already tested positive for rabies in and around Marshall County in 2008, so the Department of Health requests your cooperation in obeying the law and keeping our people and pets safe.

A Special Meeting of the Planning and Zoning Commission of the City of Lewisburg will be held at 4 p.m., Tuesday, April 1, at the City Hall, 131 East Church St.

The Town of Cornersville will hold their regular meeting of Board of Mayor and Aldermen at 6:30 p.m., Thursday, April 3, at the City Hall. The meeting is open to the public and all citizens are welcome to attend.

The Town of Chapel Hill Planning Commission will hold a public hearing at 5:30 p.m., Monday, April 7, at the Police and Fire Department, 119 North Horton Pkwy, to hear comments on the plan of services for a property that is requesting annexation. The Marshall County Solid Waste Committee will hold a meeting at 6 p.m., Monday, April 7, at the Lewisburg Middle School Auditorium.

The Chapel Hill Youth Football League will hold its monthly board meeting at 6 p.m., Wednesday, April 9, at the Chapel Hill Fire Hall. This meeting is open to the public.

The Marshall County Education Association is offering a $1,000 scholarship to upcoming college juniors and seniors who are majoring in education.
