Mrs. Jewell Nix Wade Rives, 91, of Tullahoma, formerly of Lewisburg, died Wednesday, March 26, 2008, at her residence.
Mrs. Rives was a native of the Blue Creek Community of Giles County. She was retired from Genesco and was a homemaker.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Robert Allen and Jennie Bell Cowan Nix; her husband of 55 years, Bennie Edward Wade; her second husband, Clyde Rives; two brothers, Cordelle and Paul Nix; and seven sisters, Lucy Nix, Tommie Perriman, Elsie Doggett, Willie Hopkins, Mary Doggett, Lillian Rutledge, and Ruth Smith.
She is survived by a daughter, Linda (Tom) Clark of Tullahoma; step children, Malcolm (Madelyn) Rives, Coleen (Max) Horst, and Claudette Rive; three grandchildren; nine great-grandchildren; and numerous nieces and nephews.
The family will be at the Church of Christ, Cedar Lane, Tullahoma, for visitation starting at 5:30 p.m., Friday, March 28, followed by a service at 7:30 p.m. On Saturday, March 29, the family will be at London Funeral Home, Lewisburg, from 10 a.m. until the funeral at noon. Burial will be at Mars Hill Cemetery.
