Charles Earl McCord

Mr. Charles Earl McCord, 88, of Mississippi, formerly of Lewisburg, died Friday, March 28, 2008, in the VA Nursing Home in Oxford, Miss.

Mr. McCord was a native of the Bryant Station Community. He was in the Army Air Corp, serving in the Western Pacific, during World War II. He was retired from Walker Die Casting, and was a member of the Church of Christ, the American Legion, and the Masons.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Merrill F. and Lillie Sue Scott McCord.

He is survived by two daughters, Deborah Mitchell of Batesville, Miss. and Connie Moore of Tallahassee, Fla.; two sisters, Edna Huff and Jean Crook, both of Indiana; three brothers, Wayne McCord of Columbia, Paul McCord of Maryland, and Ray Thomas McCord of Lewisburg; five grandchildren; and seven great-grandchildren.

Graveside services were conducted at Lone Oak Cemetery on Sunday, March 30.

London Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements.
