The Marshall County Tigers had a chance to knock off District power Page at home Tuesday, but were drowned by a deluge of Patriot goals over the final 20 minutes of the contest en route to a 6-2 loss.
Playing in a steady downpour for much of the game, the Tigers (4-2, 1-1 District) held a 2-1 lead midway through the second half. Page washed away MCHS' upset bid by erupting for five goals in a span of 16 minutes to break Marshall County's four-game winning streak.
Despite the extremely sloppy field conditions, MCHS head coach Lisa Raffo offered up no excuses. "It was a muddy, nasty game, but I think it was pretty equal for both teams," said Raffo.
