The Forrest Rockets (7-5) bounced back in a big way after their 11-0 loss to Lewisburg last week, pounding Eagleville, 12-2, in five innings at Chapel Hill Monday.
Jacob Davis went 3-for-4 with a pair of homeruns and drove home five runs for the Rockets. Kristian Albarran also had a great night at the dish, going 2-for-3 with a three-run homer and an RBI double in the Rockets' 13-hit barrage.
"I felt in the zone tonight," Davis said in the post game interview. "They fed me some fastballs and I really drove into them. It always feels good to get a district win. We want to get going to get back at Cascade."
Micah Phifer went the distance on the mound for Forrest, allowing just two hits and striking out nine Eagle hitters. Phifer also went 2-for-3 in the box and drove home one runner.
