Lady Rockets light up Lady Cougars
In an unusual twist, the Middle Tennessee Christian School Lady Cougars traveled to Forrest on Tuesday and were the home team. With their field unplayable, MTCS agreed to come to Chapel Hill for a scheduled doubleheader. The two teams played through mist, rain, falling temperatures, and one lengthy rain delay.
The mudders from Chapel Hill (14-3, 6-0) lit up the Lady Cougars, winning the first game, 15-0, in four innings and needing just one inning in the second game, putting 16 runs on the board in their first at bat.
After one at bat in the second game, MTCS head coach Kimberly McKnight had seen enough of the bad weather and Forrest's devastating offensive attack.
With the score 16-0, McKnight decided to call the game to avoid injury to her depleted squad of just 10 players.
