Sherrod Murrey Ordway
Mrs. Sherrod Murrey Ordway, 90, of Montgomery, Al., died on Wednesday, April 2, 2008.
Mrs. Ordway was a native of Lewisburg, although she lived most of her life away from her hometown. She was active in the Methodist Church and in numerous civic organizations throughout her life. Her quiet strength, gentle spirit, true beauty, and courage will forever continue to inspire those who knew and loved her.
She was preceded in death by her parents, James Floyd Murrey and Pattie Battle Murrey; husband of 65 years, Richard Choate "Dick" Ordway; son, James Ordway; and sister, Frances Elizabeth Murrey McIntyre.
She is survived by three children, Richard Choate Ordway, Jr. of Huntsville, Al., William Murrey (Joy) Ordway of Atlanta, Ga., and Patty (Hunter) McDonald of Montgomery, Al.; two grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews.
Funeral services were held Saturday, April 5, at the Central United Methodist Church in Decatur, Al.
Southern Memorial Directing was in charge of arrangements.
