As an industrial electrician and shop supervisor with Sanford Manufacturing Corp., Scott Begley's day normally consists of nothing more dangerous than commuting from his home in Cornersville and seeing that things run smoothly once he gets to work.

As a master sergeant in the Tennessee Air National Guard, though, Begley is called upon from time to time to lay down his wrenches and take up arms against a common enemy.

In January he returned from a tour of duty in Iraq with the 118th Civil Engineering Squad.
