CHS starting pitcher Savannah Cole turned in a brilliant performance in the circle to earn her sixth victory of the season. Cole yielded just two hits and one walk in seven innings of work while racking up 10 strikeouts.
"It looked like the Savannah from 2006 and 2007. She was throwing a little more heat today and mixing in her changeup well," said Cornersville head coach Spencer Mitchell.
Offensively, the Lady Bulldogs (11-6, 8-1 District) banged out six hits against Lady Raider starting hurler Leslie Tinnon and took advantage of four Richland errors, which contributed to all six CHS runs. Cornersville also went 3-for-9 with runners in scoring position and scored all six of their runs with two outs after stranding 11 on base in their previous meeting against Richland.
