At five o'clock on Monday afternoon, the Marshall County Little League opened up another season. High hopes reign this year for the more than 800 boys and girls that come to the diamonds in Lewisburg each night to partake in America's pastime.

It is always an exciting time of year to be back at the park and in baseball and softball, anything is possible. Aaron Hobbs sent a statement that this would indeed be a fun year when on Jamboree night, he hit the first pitch of the first game over the fence to start the season.

Monday night, Connor Bush's big extra-inning game winning hit gave Walker Die Casting an important opening day victory over Chapel Hill Florist. This is just the beginning of what will surely be a great season for all of 'our' boys and girls of summer.
