Friday, April 18, 2008

The Forrest Lady Rockets are on a roll, taking their 10th straight victory Wednesday night in a 13-3 five-inning victory over the Community Viqueens.

Forrest (22-3, 10-0) has not lost a game since being defeated by Friendship Christian, 5-3, on March 29 at the Commando Classic. In the stretch, the Lady Rockets have taken down some hefty foes in two AAA schools, Riverdale (25-10) and Oakland, both by 5-1 scores. The Ladies from Chapel Hill also went on the road Tuesday and defeated Summertown (17-7) for the second time this season.

Forrest has two District games remaining with F.C. Boyd and Cascade. A win in both contests will mean a 15th straight regular season District 9A Championship.

Community scored first Wednesday night on an unearned run in the first inning. Amber Woods doubled home Brianna Maselter, who reached on the Forrest miscue.
