William Roy Newsom

Mr. William Roy "Bill" Newsom, 53, of the Wheel Community of Bedford County, died Monday, April 28, 2008, at Alive Hospice at St. Thomas Hospital.

Mr. Newsom was a native of Bedford County. He was a mechanic and attended the Baptist church.

He was preceded in death by his parents, William Frank and Frances Lynch Newsom.

He is survived by a son, James William Newsom of Tullahoma; stepson, Samuel Newsom of Shelbyville; five sisters, Carolyn Sharp and Debra and Patricia Newsom, all of Unionville, Kathy Prouty of Shelbyville, and Mary Leverette of the Longview Community; seven brothers, Thomas and John Lynch, and Claude, Doyle and Timmy Newsom, all of Shelbyville, Leslie Newsom of Chapel Hill, and Randy Newsom of Unionville; three grandchildren; and nieces and nephews.

Funeral services will be conducted at 1 p.m. Wednesday, April 30, from the chapel of Lawrence Funeral Home with Bro. Mike Hannah officiating, followed by burial at Cothran Cemetery in the Rover Community of Bedford County.
