Steely resigns as Tigerettes' coach

David Steely, head coach of the 2007-'08 Class AA state champion Marshall County High School Tigerettes basketball team, resigned from his post early Thursday morning.

Steely compiled a record of 160-105 in his nine years at the position, guiding the team back to the pinnacle of the high school basketball, finishing runner-up in 2007 before capturing the title this past season.

The Tigerettes ended the year with a 32-4 record, running off a 14-game winning streak to end the season, capturing the school's fourth state title with a 44-35 win over Milan on March 8.
