CSCC to host EMS night out

COLUMBIA -- Maury Regional Emergency Medical Services, Vander-bilt LifeFlight and Columbia State Commun-ity College will host the seventh annual EMS Night Out Helicopter Expo on Tuesday, May 20, at 6:00 p.m.

The event will be held at Columbia State Commun-ity College near the Hickman Building in celebration of National EMS Week.

The EMS Night Out Helicopter Expo will consist of emergency aircraft exhibits from Vanderbilt LifeFlight, Air-Evac Lifeteam, Tennessee High-way Patrol, Metro Nash-ville Police Department, News Channel 5's Sky 5 and the Tennessee Army National Guard. Personnel from these units will present their respective aircrafts and discuss the mission and capabilities of the units.

Numerous other public safety agencies will also be on hand, including Vanderbilt, Maury Region-al EMS, Columbia Fire Department, Columbia Police Department and SWAT unit, Maury County Hazardous Materials Team, Maury County Sheriff's Department, Maury County Rural Fire and Rescue, American Red Cross, and Tennessee State Parks. Educational booths will include Maury Regional Hospital, Vander-bilt and Columbia State Community College.

The expo is open to the community, but emergency medical technicians, critical care nurses, paramedics and occupational medicine personnel are especially encouraged to attend. The program is free and the evening will include a meal. There is no need to register.
