James Thomas Woodward

Mr. James Thomas "Hoss" Woodward, 74, of Petersburg, died Wednesday, May 21, 2008, at Lincoln Regional Hospital.

Mr. Woodward was a native of Marshall County. He was retired from International Comfort Products after 44 years and was a farmer. He was a Sunday school superintendent and a member of the board of trustees of the Petersburg United Methodist Church.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Thomas Hoyle Woodward and Mildred Andrews Woodward; and a sister, Marie Woodward.

He is survived by his wife of nearly 50 years, Barbara Talley Woodward, daughter, Marie (Stanley) Cantrell, and grandchildren, McKenzie and Carey Cantrell, all of Petersburg; sisters, Betty Lasater and Judy Richardson, and nephews, Tim and Rex Richardson, all of Lewisburg; and brother, Jimmy Woodward of Vista, Calif.

Visitation will be from 4 to 8 p.m. Friday, May 23, at Bills-McGaugh Funeral Home, and from noon until 2 p.m. Saturday, May 24, at Petersburg United Methodist Church.

Funeral services will be conducted at 2 p.m. Saturday, May 24, at Petersburg United Methodist Church, with Reverend Donnie Morris officiating, followed by burial in Old Orchard Cemetery.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Petersburg United Methodist Church.
