Pre-K classes hold graduation ceremonies
With lots of pomp and circumstance, including waving to proud parents and grandparents, cameras flashing, and a bit of squirming in their seats, the first two Pre-K classes of the Marshall County School System graduated on Thursday, May 22, in an afternoon ceremony held at Lewisburg Middle School.
Thirty-eight 4-year olds attended the Pre-K classes this past school year, under the guidance of teachers Salina Moorehead and Sherryle Foster, who have worked diligently with the children to develop pre-academic and social skills that will help them in their educational career. Teacher assistants who also helped in the classroom are Dixie Hobby and Haley Hardison.
Moorehead welcomed the crowd including the Pre-K Advisory Council and Dr. Stan Curtis, director of schools.
"Without your support we wouldn't be able to be here today to share in this special memory with your children," she said.
