Marshall County dominates All-Star team

Friday, May 30, 2008

Personal recognition for most athletes is secondary to their team's success. Winning programs will be recognized and players on those squads will inherently be recognized as well.

For Marshall County softball, all of the above is true, illustrated by the naming of nine players from the county to the Middle Tennessee Coaches Association All-Star Team.

The team was named on May 18, prior to the state tournament. Only coaches who belong to the MTCA are allowed to vote.

The TSSAA Class A state champion Forrest Lady Rockets (37-7) led the way with four players on the team. Senior Gaby Bussell was joined by Shelby Stinnett, named for the second straight season, Haley Mathis, and Brianda Elmore.
