Cecil Leon Franklin

Mr. Cecil Leon Franklin, 78, of Lewisburg, died Friday, May 30, 2008, at his residence.

Mr. Franklin was a native of Franklin County, Ala. He was a member of the Pentecostal Church of God and had retired after 26 years as an assembly line technician at General Motors' Willow Run Plant in Ypsilanti, Mich.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Cecil Albert Franklin and Alice Ludine Bohan; and brother, Ben Franklin.

He is survived by his wife of 57 years, Beatrice Puckett Franklin of Lewisburg; sons, Larry (Diana) Franklin of Yuma, Ariz. and Chuck Franklin of Manchester; daughters, Rosa (John) Borowski of Flat Rock, Mich., Yvonne Lewis of Belleville, Mich. and Wanda Franklin of Lewisburg; sisters, Clara Harvey, Mary (Wayne) Peppers, and Helen (Eugene) Tidwell, all of Alabama; brothers, Johnny (Marlene) Franklin, Charles Albert Franklin, and Hudon Franklin, all of Alabama, and Oscar (Vickie) Franklin of Illinois; eight grandchildren; and 10 great-grandchildren.

Funeral services were conducted Sunday, June 1, from the chapel of Bills-McGaugh Funeral Home, with Sister Mary Ann Pruitt officiating, followed by burial at Sunset Park Cemetery.
