Hopkins to play for Dyersburg State

Dyersburg Community College signee Danika Hopkins takes the floor versus McMinn Central at this year's state tournament.

Danika Hopkins has signed a scholarship to continue her basketball career at Dyersburg State Community College, making it a clean sweep for the graduating backcourt of the Class of 2008 at Marshall County High School.

Nicknamed "The Glove" for her defensive prowess, Hopkins joins McKenna Moffett and Jessica McQueen at higher learning institutions next year, a testament to the dedication of the student athletes and coaching staff at MCHS to meld athletics and academia.

Former head coach David Steely said, "We kept up with them all the time in the classroom. I am very proud of each of the girls. We always stressed to them if at all possible to get a great education.
