Campbell to attend accounting academy

Julie Campbell, a junior at Cornersville High School, has been selected to attend the seventh annual TSCPA Accounting Academy. The Tennessee Society of Certified Public Accountants presents this four-day program for high school students. The objective of the program is to allow students to experience first-hand the dynamic world of business and learn more about the accounting profession.

Seminar activities include interactive business case studies, a review of ethics, etiquette and career planning in the accounting profession. In addition, there will be presentations by business leaders and tours of several large corporations and firms in Middle Tennessee, such as Curb Records, Gaylord Entertainment Company, and Deloitte & Touche. Approximately 60 students from across the state will participate in this year's academy and will also experience college life by staying on campus at Belmont University for the four-day conference.

The Tennessee Society of Certified Public Accountants is the state professional organization for certified public accountants who are principally employed or reside in Tennessee. The society's membership is comprised of more than 8,000 members in industry, government, business, education and public accounting.
