Hazel D. Tucker, 80, of Shelbyville, died Monday, June 16, 2008, at Bedford County Medical Center.
Mrs. Tucker was a native of Lewisburg and was on the board of St. James Primitive Baptist Church.
She was preceded in death by her parents, George and Annie Davis; husband, George Tucker; brother, Thomas Davis; and sisters, Ida Bruce Fierson and Lucille Davis.
She is survived by her daughter, Barbara Draine of Shelbyville; son, William Tucker of Franklin; brothers, Herbert and Jones Davis of Lewisburg and Cordie Davis of Belfast; sisters, Savannah Freeman of Lewisburg, Francis Marlow of Nashville, and Willie Mae Norwood and Rachel Bailey of Columbia; seven grandchildren; 10 great-great-grandchildren; and a host of other relatives and friends.
Mrs. Tucker will lie in state on Saturday, June 21, at the Lewisburg Family Life Center, with visitation with the family from 4 to 6 p.m.
Funeral services will be conducted at 2 p.m. Sunday, June 22, at St. James Primitive Baptist Church, with family hour from 1 to 2 p.m. Burial will be at Egypt Cemetery, Chapel Hill.
In lieu of flowers donations may be made to the Alzheimer's Association or Bedford County Relief Program.
