Madison "Gold Glove" Thomason was stellar in the field the entire post-season, committing zero miscues at second base.

The Marshall County Little League Girls 11 and12-year-old All-Stars faced some of the toughest competition of any team in the post-season in Morristown at the Little League State Tournament and came up just short, finishing in third place after winning their first two ballgames.

Unicoi County was the eventual state champions, beating the defending World Series champions and host Morristown 8-0 Saturday night. Unicoi advances to the southeast region in St. Petersburg, Fla.

Marshall County opened the state tournament with a convincing 7-1 victory over Madison on July 12 and then followed that win with the shocker of the tourney, outlasting Morristown 2-1 in front of their home crowd on July 14.

Marshall County was undefeated, but knew their winner's bracket match-up with Unicoi County on Wednesday night could be the toughest game they played the entire post-season.
