Marshall County parents who plan to home school their children for the 2008-2009 school year need to register with the Board of Education at 700 Jones Circle, Lewisburg, between August 1 and August 15.

The Lewisburg Housing Authority Board of Commissioners will conduct a workshop at 6:30 p.m. Thursday, August 7, at the George W. Turner Building, 741 Silver Street.

The Town of Cornersville Board of Mayor and Aldermen will meet at 6:30 p.m. Thursday, August 7, at City Hall. The meeting is open to the public and citizens are welcome to attend.

The descendants of James Kidd Endsley will hold their reunion starting at 10 a.m. Saturday, August 9, at the Belfast Lions Club Center. There will be a potluck lunch at noon.

The American Red Cross will hold a Blood Drive from noon to 6 p.m., Monday, August 11, at the Chapel Hill United Methodist Church, 316 North Horton Pkwy. To give blood you must be at least 17 years old, weigh a minimum of 110 pounds, be in good general health, and present positive identification. The Marshall County Commission will hold a work session at 6 p.m. Monday, August 11, followed by a public hearing on the budget at 7 p.m.


The Marshall County Codes Committee will meet at 5 p.m. Tuesday, August 12, on the second floor of the Courthouse Annex, Lewisburg.

The Town of Chapel Hill Park and Recreation Board will hold their regular monthly meeting at 6 p.m. Tuesday, August 12, at the Police and Fire Department, 119 North Horton Parkway.


Chapel Hill Youth Football League will hold their monthly board meeting at 6 p.m. Wednesday, August 13, at the Chapel Hill Fire Hall. The meeting is open to the public.


Art Coomes will be teaching computer classes at the Marshall County Memorial Library from 10 a.m. until noon on Thursday, August 14, and from 5:30 to 7:30 p.m. on Thursday. August 19. Duck River Electric Membership Corporation will hold its annual meeting of members at 9:30 a.m. Saturday, August 16, in the Manchester-Coffee County Conference Center, 147 Hospitality Blvd, Manchester. Registration starts at 8:30 a.m.

Marshall County Chiropractic will host a Kid's Fair from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. Saturday, August 16, at Westhills Elementary School. There will be fun, games, door prizes and demonstrations. All proceeds will go to the March of Dimes.

All offices at all Columbia State Community College locations will be closed on August 18, for faculty and staff professional development. The fall 2008 fee payment deadline has been extended until 6 p.m. on August 19. Automated online payment and registration services are available and all offices will be open from 7:45 a.m. until 6 p.m. on August 19.
