Marshall County parents who plan to home school their children for the 2008-2009 school year need to register with the Board of Education at 700 Jones Circle, Lewisburg, between now August 15.

Classes at the Marshall County Adult Learning Center are re-opening for the fall session. Evening classes started Aug. 7, and will meet from 6 to 8:30 p.m. on Mondays and Wednesdays. Morning classes meet from 9 to 11:30 a.m. on Tuesdays and Thursdays, starting Aug. 12. For more information, call 359-7609.

Adult Education classes will reopen for the Fall Session at the Marshall County Adult Learning Center on the following dates: Evening classes started Thursday, Aug. 7, from 6-8:30 p.m. and will continue each week on Monday and Wednesday at that time. Morning classes will start Tuesday, Aug. 12 at from 9-11:30 a.m. meeting each Tuesday and Thursday at those hours. The descendants of James Kidd Endsley will hold their reunion starting at 10 a.m. Saturday, Aug. 9, at the Belfast Lions Club Center. There will be a potluck lunch at noon.

The American Red Cross will hold a Blood Drive from noon to 6 p.m., Monday, Aug. 11, at the Chapel Hill United Methodist Church, 316 North Horton Pkwy. To give blood you must be at least 17 years old, weigh a minimum of 110 pounds, be in good general health, and present positive identification. The Marshall County Commission will hold a work session at 6 p.m. Monday, Aug. 11, followed by a public hearing on the budget at 7:30 p.m. in Room 2204 of the Courthouse Annex, Lewisburg.


The Marshall County Codes Committee will meet at 5 p.m. Tuesday, Aug. 12, on the second floor of the Courthouse Annex, Lewisburg.

The Town of Chapel Hill Park and Recreation Board will hold its regular monthly meeting at 6 p.m. Tuesday, Aug. 12, at the Police and Fire Department, 119 North Horton Parkway.


Chapel Hill Youth Football League will hold its monthly board meeting at 6 p.m. Wednesday, Aug. 13, at the Chapel Hill Fire Hall. The meeting is open to the public.


Art Coomes will be teaching computer classes at the Marshall County Memorial Library from 10 a.m. until noon on Thursday, Aug. 14, and from 5:30 to 7:30 p.m. on Thursday. Aug. 19.
