County sports enjoyed banner season

School is back in session in Marshall County, marking the beginning of a brand new high school sports cycle.

Looking back on 2008 and the whirlwind of sports happenings in the county over the past 12 months brings back memories of great teams, outstanding athletes, and the rise to the top for three state champion squads.

August starts the cycle for fall sports and the beginning of gridiron action in the county. Who will ever forget the anticipation of the dawn of a new era at Marshall County High under first year head coach Don Thomas? Thomas came to us via LaVergne High School with lineage to the great Lincoln County football programs of the past.
